Pastor Tanner is both the Executive and Lead Pastor of Community Church. Pastor Tanner began his tenure at Community over 20 years ago. Pastor Tanner has led and continues to lead the Community family towards growth and healing while maintaining a family-oriented atmosphere at the Community Church. He is married to First Lady, Denise Elaine Travis Tanner and they have three children and two grandchildren.

First Lady Denise Tanner is the wife of Pastor Robert D. Tanner, Jr. and the mother of Robert III, Carrita and Rebekah Tanner. Lady Tanner leads our annual Women’s retreat along with our annual Marriage Ministry retreats. She’s an advocate and voice for families and especially loves children. She graduated from Xavier University and maintains her teaching certification for both Special Education and Behavioral Challenged students. 

Reverend Kenneth L. Cooper is one of the Associate Pastors of the Community Church River Ridge campus. He is married to Shirley Cooper and directs and manages the Ushers’ and Greeters’ ministries. Reverend Cooper has served as an Associate Pastor at Community for over 10 years and shares a fervent desires to study and preach God’s Word. He continues to lead with compassion, wisdom and care and we’re blessed to have him be part of our staff at Community.

Robert Tanner, III serves as the Associate Youth Pastor of Community Church River Ridge. He is the son of Pastor and First Lady Tanner and the father to one beautiful girl, Bailey Grace. Robert currently serves in various roles; primarily as the Associate Youth Pastor but also as the Multimedia Director over sound and visual as well as an active youth counselor within our Youth and Young Adult’s ministries.
